Declaration of Force Majeure US Gulf Ports - Pegasus Logistics Group

International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and United States Maritime Alliance, Ltd. (“USMX”) contract dispute – Declaration of Force Majeure for shipments routed through US East and Gulf Coast ports

Pegasus Logistics GroupNews

Dear valued Pegasus Logistics Group clients,

Following the ILA’s declaration of a strike at US East and Gulf Coast ports, ocean carriers have announced that they will invoke Force Majeure on shipments routed to and through affected ports.

The declaration of Force Majeure allows ocean carriers to pass on additional costs associated with the fulfillment of their duties as per the Bill of Lading.

As a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC), Pegasus Logistics Group relies on Vessel-Operating Common Carriers (VOCCs), to service its clients. Therefore, it is declaring Force Majeure for all cargo moving to or through US East and Gulf Coast ports.

The contract dispute between ILA and USMX and the resulting ILA strike is beyond our control, and therefore, Pegasus Logistics Group will have to pass on all strike-related costs to its clients.

Additional charges include but are not limited to additional costs for moving cargo, emergency surcharges as implemented by VOCCs, and port/terminal/rail congestion charges.

Pegasus Logistics Group is closely monitoring development and will provide updates as new information becomes available.

If you have any immediate concerns or require additional information, please reach out to your account representative or our operation team.

Thank you for your continued support.
